Prairie Organic Vodka is featured on l’etoile Magazine as a “Made in Minnesota” spirit, one of the few in the state. Anthony Enright interviewed Jim Aune,  Director of Research and Development at Phillips Distilling Company, on the making of Prairie Organic Vodka. Aune has been with the company for over 40 years, creating Prairie and most of the flavors in the Phillips portfolio.

During the Q & A interview, Enright asked Aune, “What do you think makes Prairie distinctly Minnesotan?” Aune said, “Since the finest vodkas are made from distilled grain and water, we chose a place rich in both. 2013 Nice Ride Minnesota Season Adds 24 Bike Stations

The press event kicking off the 2013 Nice Ride Minnesota expansion was a major success! Every news station and media outlet featured today’s ride and rally! Nice Ride Minnesota, the popular bike-share program, celebrated the addition of 24 new stations today with a rally and kick-off ride at the Historic Fort Snelling. The 2013 expansion brings the total system up to 170 bike share stations and 1,550 bright green bicycles.

Bill Dossett, Nice Ride Minnesota’s executive director, kicked off the event along with speeches from Paul Labovitz, Mississippi River and Recreation Area superintendent, Dave Spalding, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota senior vice president of business development, Peter McLaughlin, Hennepin County commissioner, Jayne Miller, Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board superintendent and Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak.

Thank you to the National Park Service, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, the City of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and countless others for the success of this expansion, which brought thirteen new stations along the Mississippi River.

Snowbate, Minnesota Film Incentive, Funded at $10M

This week, Governor Mark Dayton signed the Omnibus Jobs bill, which funds $10 million to the Snowbate Incentive Program.

Thank you for the hard work of Lucinda Winter and the MN Film & TV Board, Minnesota production community, members of Local IATSE 490, the Teamsters, SAG-AFTRA, AICP, AICE and film, TV, digital production supporters.

The bill will increase the maximum reimbursement percentage to 25 percent for Minnesota production expenditures. The Snowbate incentive is available to feature films, TV pilots, documentaries, post production and internet programs. Nice Ride Minnesota serves as a model and offers guidance for other bike-share programs around the world. The New York Times article talks about how the New York City’s Citi Bike, which will launch on Memorial Day, took ideas from other bike-share programs around the world.

“In Minneapolis, a largely car-dependent public needed to be convinced that bike sharing was not  ‘a crazy socialist notion,’ said Bill Dossett, the executive director for Nice Ride Minnesota, which operates from April to November.”

This year, UV Vodka’s Super Bowl cocktails received a spirited crowd response!

One of the benefits of our smart and nimble team of publicists is that we’re able to immediately and successfully position our clients where it matters.

Minnesota Filmmakers Choose Iron Range for Movie, Say More to Come

A feature film will be shot on the Minnesota Iron Range this spring. Filmmakers of the tentatively titled movie, “Thanksgiving at Denny’s,” were on the Iron Range Monday for meetings regarding the logistics of shooting in the area. Minnesota production company, Griffin Productions LLC is pairing with Washington Square Films to shoot the dramatic comedy on the Range.

Doctors and Administrators Perceive Culture Differently

An organizational culture study surveying physicians, and a companion study of hospital administrators, found a disconnect between doctors and administrators on issues of cultural fit and organizational performance.

Doctors, the survey by Physician Wellness Services and Cejka Search found, place a great deal of importance on cultural fit but hospital administrators underestimate the importance doctors place on it.

Griffin Productions Plans to Produce 12 Films in Minnesota

Griffin Productions wants to produce up to a dozen films within five years in the state. The first film, “Thanksgiving at Denny’s,” will have a budget between $2.5 million and $4 million (depending on the cast and other factors).

“Thanksgiving at Denny’s” could bring $15 million to $24 million in economic benefits to the Minnesota economy based on estimates that show every dollar spent making a film generates six dollars in economic activity.

Minnesota Film and TV held a press conference today to announce the production of Thanksgiving at Denny’s, a feature film that will be shot in the Iron Range of northern Minnesota starting in early 2013. The production team plans to film multiple projects over the next decade in Minnesota.

Garden Party with Special Guest Vincent Kartheiser, Pete Campbell of Mad Men

We hosted a fabulous garden party to benefit Minnesota Film & TV, Minnesota’s film commission. 250 guests sipped cocktails, smoked hand-rolled cigars and celebrated Minnesota’s film industry. Minnesota native and Mad Men actor Vincent Kartheiser was guest of honor. Jason Richards entertained guests with jazz standards. The party was featured in Minneapolis Star Tribune by gossip columnist C.J. and style editor Sara Glassman.
