In a recent post, Explore Minnesota reveals the “rebirth” of the Minnesota historic landmark, Coldwater Spring (via Joel Schettler, Minnesota Monthly). Along with REI and the National Park Service, the Mississippi River Fund is currently restoring the 10,000 year old, 29 acre site, keeping the historic Coldwater springhouse and reservoir. The site re-opened on September 1 “as part of the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area, an urban national park.” Join us at Coldwater Spring on National Public Lands Day, Saturday, September 29. Let the restoration continue! For additional information, please visit http://www.missriverfund.org/.
